Abstract
Postoji mnogo čimbenika koji utječu na način na koji usvajamo i učimo strani jezik. Dob kao jedan od tih čimbenika također utječe na metode podučavanja koje se koriste u nastavi stranog jezika. Djeca, adolescenti i odrasli različito uče jezike i svaka grupa ima određene prednosti ili nedostatke. Pomoću upitnika ispitali smo stavove nastavnika o učenju i poučavanju stranog jezika općenito iu različitim dobnim skupinama. Također smo željeli znati kakve bi metode nastavnici koristili s različitim dobnim skupinama. Stavovi nastavnika ne razlikuju se ovisno o spolu, radnom iskustvu ili vrsti škole u kojoj rade. Ipak, imaju drugačije mišljenje u nekim područjima učenja i poučavanja stranog jezika posebice o prikladnim nastavnim metodama. Dob kao čimbenik u učionici stranog jezika treba dodatno ispitati i istaknuti njenu važnost u obrazovanju nastavnika stranom jezika.
Abstract (english)
There are a lot of factors that influence the way we acquire and learn a foreign language. Age as one of these factors also influences teaching methods used in a foreign language classroom. Children, adolescents and adults learn languages differently and each group has a certain advantage or disadvantage. Using a questionnaire, we examined teachers’ attitudes towards learning and teaching of a foreign language in general and in different age groups. We also wanted to know what kind of methods they would use with different age groups. Teachers’ attitudes are not different based on their gender, teaching experience or type of school they work in. Nevertheless, they have opposite opinions in some areas of foreign language learning and teaching especially regarding appropriate teaching methods. Age as a factor in a foreign language classroom should be further examined and more emphasized in foreign language teachers' education.
