Abstract
Kompetentan roditelj ne odustaje od svoje roditeljske uloge jer teškoće na koje nailazi smatra privremenima, promišlja o kritičnim točkama svojega roditeljstva, prati i procjenjuje posljedice svojega odgojnog djelovanja na dijete, stalno radi samoprocjenu, mijenja i unaprjeđuje sebe i koristi sve raspoložive resurse kako bi unaprijedio svoje roditeljske kompetencije. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi razlikuju li se očevi i majke u doživljaju sebe kao roditelja djece predškolske dobi. U istraživanju su primijenjena tri upitnika: Upitnik općih podataka, Skala roditeljske kompetentnosti (Gibaud i Wandersman, 1978.; Johnston i Mash, 1989.) te Upitnik svjesnog roditeljstva (McCaffrey, 2015.). Rezultati su pokazali da se majke i očevi ne razlikuju u niti jednoj mjeri roditeljstva (kompetentnost, zadovoljstvo, usredotočenost na dijete, samoefikasnost). Roditeljska samoefikasnost i usredotočenost na dijete kao faktori svjesnog roditeljstva međusobno su visoko povezani. Slično je utvrđeno i za dva faktora doživljaja roditeljstva (kompetentnost i zadovoljstvo) koji su također značajno povezani. Usredotočenost na dijete također je povezana sa svim ostalim mjerama roditeljstva
Abstract (english)
Competent parent does not give up from their parental role because he/she finds the obstacles he/she stumbles upon temporary, he/she thinks about the critical points of his/hers parenthood, follows and evaluates the consequences of his/hers upringing upon his/hers child(ren), is constantly evaluating him/herself, is constantly changing and improving him/herself and is using all available resources to advance his/hers parental competences. The goal of this research was to establish whether there are any differences between mothers and fathers in their self perception as parents of pre-school childrens. The reaserch used three questionnaires: general data questionnaire, parental competence (Gibaud i Wandersman, 1978.; Johnston i Mash, 1989.) and finally conscious parenting questionnaire (McCaffrey, 2015.). The results have shown that mothers and fathers do not differ from each other by any parenting scale(measure) (competency, contentment, focus upon the child, self-efficiency). Parental self-efficiency and focus upon the child as consciouss parenting factors are mutually highly correlated. Similarly to that, the same has been proven for two factors of parenting experience (competency and contentment) which are highly mutually correlated, as well. focus upon the child os yet again correlated with all other scales/measures of parenting.
