Abstract
U ovom diplomskom radu je analizirano djelo Newyorška trilogija autora Paula Austera kroz prizmu ontologije orijentirane na objekte, nove filozofije koja je dijelom spekulativnog realizma. Za OOO, stvarnost čini interakcija između stvarnih i senzualnih objekata i njihovih osobina. U ovom radu prikazat će se kako veze između likova romana Staklenog grada, Duhova i Zaključane sobe imitiraju veze koje je Graham Harman opisao u svojoj filozofiji. Argumentirat će se da su ove veze ključne za razumijevanje umjetnosti koje vodi do boljeg razumijevanja stvarnosti čiji smo dio.
Abstract (english)
This MA thesis will analyse Paul Auster’s New York Trilogy through the lens of ObjectOriented Ontology, a new philosophy that is a part of Speculative Realism. OOO regards reality as an interaction between real and sensual objects, and their qualities. This paper will argue that the relationships between the characters in City of Glass, Ghosts, and Locked Room mimic the relations described by Graham Harman in his philosophy. It will be argued that these relations are crucial for humanity’s understanding of art which in turn leads to the understanding of reality as a whole.
