Abstract
Budući da današnje slikovnice obraĊuju tematiku smrti, moţe se pretpostaviti da smrt nije više tabu tema, već se ona djeci prikazuje kao normalan dio ţivota. U radu je analizirano pet djeĉjih slikovnica koje obraĊuju temu smrti. Pojedine slikovnice smrt tumaĉe kao oproštaj od drage osobe, a druge slikovnice idu u tolike krajnosti da se u njima spominje i eutanazija. U radu su se usporedili razliĉiti naĉini prikazivanja teme smrti u analiziranim slikovnicama. Osim na sadrţajnoj razini, slikovnice su se analizirale i na likovnoj razini kroz ilustracije, boje i likovne tehnike. Kako se slikovnice razlikuju u prikazivanju smrti, tako se razlikuju i u ilustracijama. Neke od slikovnica proţete su šarenim, bogatim i veselim ilustracijama, a druge se oslanjaju na minimalizam i zagasite boje. U radu su se istraţili i stavovi autora o slikovnicama, njihova motivacija i poticaji za pisanje takvih slikovnica, zanimljivosti vezane uz njihove slikovnice te prevoĊenost slikovnica na druge jezike. Osim toga, naglasak je stavljen na simboliku i znaĉenja u slikovnicama.
Abstract (english)
Since today's picture books deal with the topic of death, it can be assumed that death is no longer a taboo topic, but it is presented to children as a normal part of life. This paper analyzes five children's picture books that deal with the topic of death. Some picture books interpret death as a farewell from a loved one, while other picture books go to such extremes that euthanasia is mentioned in them. The paper compares different ways of presenting the theme of death in the analyzed picture books. Apart from the content level, the picture books were also analyzed at the art level through illustrations, colors and art techniques. As picture books differ in depicting death, so do they differ in illustrations. Some of the picture books are filled with colorful, rich and cheerful illustrations, while others rely on minimalism and muted colors. The paper also explored the authors' views on picture books, their motivation and incentives for writing such picture books, interesting facts about their picture books and the translation of picture books into other languages. In addition, emphasis is placed on symbolism and meaning in picture books.
