Abstract
Motivacija je važan temelj akademskog razvoja kod studenata. Mnogi istraživači diljem svijeta identificirali su mnoge ideje i teorije motivacije te načine na koji se ona može mjeriti. Dr. Brett D. Jones uspostavio je MUSIC model motivacije koji pet različitih komponenti (briga, interes, osnaživanje, uspjeh i korisnost) motivacije uključuje zajedno u jedan jedinstven model. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi postoji li statistički značajna razlika u prisutnosti 5 komponenti MUSIC modela između kolegija koji bi studenti opisali kao jedan od najboljih koje su pohađali, odnosno koji ih je oduševio tijekom svog dosadašnjeg studija te onog kolegija koji nije ispunio njihova očekivanja, tj. koji ih je razočarao. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju iznimno visoku zastupljenost svih 5 komponenti motivacije za kolegij koji je ispitanike oduševio te veoma nisku zastupljenost ovih komponenti za kolegij koji je ispitanike razočarao. T-testom za zavisne uzorke ovo istraživanje je utvrdilo da postoji statistički značajna razlika u prisutnosti svih 5 komponenti između kolegija koji je studente oduševio i onog koji ih je razočarao, čime je potvrđeno da način na koji je nastavnik koncipirao kolegij ima ključan utjecaj na akademsku motivaciju studenata.
Abstract (english)
Motivation is an important foundation of students' academic development. Many researchers around the world have identified many ideas and theories of motivation and the ways in which it can be measured. Dr. Brett D. Jones established the MUSIC model of motivation which incorporates 5 different components (care, interest, empowerment, success and usefulness) of motivation together into one unique model. The goal of this research was to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference in the presence of the 5 components of the MUSIC model for the course that students would describe as one of the best they attended, i.e. one that delighted them during their studies so far, and for the course that did not meet their expectations, i.e. that disappointed them. The results show an extremely high representation of all 5 components of motivation for the course that delighted the respondents and a very low representation of these components for the course that disappointed the respondents. Paired samples t-test showed that there is a statistically significant difference in the presence of all 5 components between the course that delighted the students and the one that disappointed them, which confirmed that the way the course was designed by the professor has a key influence on the academic motivation of the students
