Abstract
Rodoslovlje je trag jednog roda u povijesti jednog naroda i kraja. Ovdje je izneseno rodoslovlje roda Katavić s kratkim pregledom povijesti kako samog roda, tako i navedenog njihovog zavičaja. Došavši iz Bosne i Hercegovine u novi kraj početkom XVIII stoljeća Katavići su pustili svoje korjenje u kamenito tlo novog zavičaja. Od tada, prkoseći svim teškoćama, očuvali su se do naših dana. Danas ih gotovo nema u Prološcu, premda se sinovi i kćeri ovog roda rado vraćaju u prigodama kao što su svetkovine ili obiteljska druženja. Proložac je kroz čitavo razdoblje prisutnosti Osmanlija u ovim krajevima bio vrlo nemirno područje pogođeno mnogim ratovima, migracijama, prirodnim nepogodama i sličnim nemirima. Velik broj rodova zbog tih je razloga u više navrata selilo i zauvijek napustilo rodni kraj. Na njihovo mjesto dolazili su novi rodovi. Neki su s novim promjenama ponovno odlazili dalje, a neki su ostajali na novom ognjištu. Takav primjer daje nam rod Katavić.
Abstract (english)
Genealogy is a trace of one family name in the history of one nation and the homeland. Here is the genesis of the genus Katavić with a brief overview of the history of the genus, as well as of their homeland. Coming from Bosnia and Herzegovina to the new homeland in the early eighteenth century, Katavić people let their roots grow into the rocky ground of the new homeland. Since then, defying all the difficulties, they have been preserved until our day. Today, there are almost no members of this kindred in the town of Proložac, although the sons and daughters of this genus are happy to return on occasions such as feasts or family gatherings. Throughout the period of presence of the Ottomans, this region was a very restless area affected by many wars, migrations, natural disasters and similar disturbances. A large number of families have, for these reasons, repeatedly abandoned and left forever the hometown. New generations came to their place. Some with the new changes went further, and some stayed on the new hearth. Such an example gives us the name Katavić.
