Navedenu jednakost omogućuje koncept inkluzije čije ostvarenje, između ostalog, ovisi o kompetencijama odgajatelja, njihovim stavovima i suradnji s roditeljima i stručnim timom. Nije utvrđena statistički značajna povezanost dobi, godina radnoga staža i iskustva u radu s stavovima odgajatelja o roditeljima djece s Downovim sindromom i roditeljima djece bez poteškoća u razvoju.
Abstract (english) All children, including the ones with Down syndrome, are equal participants of the social community, and thus entitled to an equal right for education. The concept of inclusion enables the mentioned equality, and its realization, among everything else, depends on the competences of the educator, their attitudes, cooperation with the parents and team of experts. The objective of this research was to determine the attitudes of the educators about the inclusion of children with Down syndrome into ordinary kindergartens, taking into consideration the age of the educator, length of their service i.e. years of working experience and up to now experience with these children. Educators were numbered 35 in the area of Split in this research. Age range varied from under 25 to over 60, and the majority was between 51-60 years old (29%). The majority of the educators have less than 10 years of working experience (34%). Considering the experience of working with children with Down syndrome, a large number (74%) of them has not had any experience in this field, while 29% had the chance to work with them. For the purposes of the research, a Questionnaire on Assessing Attitudes of Educators on Inclusion of Children with Down Syndrom was developed. The results did not show any statistically significant connection of the age and attitude of educators about the inclusion (Factor I), but there is a pattern showing the connection of the Factor I and the years of working experience alongside with the experience the educators had had working with these children. The interconnection of educator’s attitudes about the conditions of inclusion (Factor II) has not been determined by the variables of working experience and age, but a partial linkage with the variable of the working experience with these children is present. Partial linkage with age and length of service on one hand, and educator’s attitudes about their own competences for realization of inclusion and readiness for further training on the other (Factor III), as well as attitudes about the current conditions for implementing inclusion in their work environment (Factor IV) has been established. Any statistically significant correlation between age, years of work experience and stroke in work with educator’s attitudes about parents of children with Down syndrome and parents of children with no difficulties in development has not been established.
