Abstract
Kao jedna od posljedica razvoja romanskih jezika iz latinskog nestali su padeži i nastala je nova vrsta riječi - član. U većini romanskih jezika, uključujući i talijanski, određeni član razvio se od latinske pokazne zamjenice ILLE, dok se neodređeni član razvio iz UNUS, -A, -UM. Partitivni član karakterističan je za suvremeni talijanski jezik. Ipak, podrijetlo talijanskih članova, posebice određenog člana, kompleksnije je i njegove različite forme objašnjavaju se na različite načine. Upotreba člana promijenila se tijekom vremena i danas se član upotrebljava u kontekstima u kojima se u prošlosti nije upotrebljavao. Ponekad ne može biti određena gramatički, već ovisi o značenju koje osoba želi prenijeti. Cilj ovog rada je objasniti podrijetlo različitih oblika talijanskog člana, kao i opisati sličnosti i razlike u njegovoj upotrebi u starom i u suvremenom talijanskom jeziku.
Abstract (english)
As one of the consequences of the development of the Romance languages from Latin, the cases disappeared, and a new part of speech was created – the article. In most Romance languages, including Italian, the definite article developed from the Latin demonstrative ILLE, while the indefinite article developed from UNUS, -A, -UM. The partitive article is typical of modern Italian language. However, the origin of Italian articles, especially of the definite article, is more complex and its different forms have been explained in different ways. The usage of article has changed over time and today the article is used in the contexts in which it was not used in the past. Sometimes it cannot be grammatically determined, but it depends on the meaning that a person wants to convey. The aim of this study is to explain the origin of different forms of the Italian article, as well as to describe the differences and the similarities in its usage in old and in modern Italian language.
