This bachelor thesis displays the views of several Croatian political emigrants on the Bleiburg tragedy. The first chapter summarizes the events from just before the end of the Second World War when the territory of the Independent State of Croatia was gradually reducing and was reduced to the area of the immediate vicinity of Zagrebwith all the more frequent victories of the Partisan army on the battlefields as well as the last unsuccessful political endeavours of the Ustasha regime to rescue the state, its breakup and retreat of the Armed Forces of NDH and the civilian population through Slovenia towards the Slovenian-Austrian border to the territory under the command of the Western Allies. The same section briefly describes the withdrawal process itself, Bleiburg negotiations at the British headquarters, the British delivering the refugees to the Partisans, massacres and torture as well as the Way of the Cross. The second chapter shows post-war Croatian political emigration, its organizational prevalence across the world, but also disagreement in certain attitudes and its key issues and the activity of Croatian political emigrants in which they sought to achieve Croatian autonomy and independence and the preservation of national and cultural heritage. The main section of the thesis, which is divided into two chapters in relation to the circle of emigrant activity, presents the views of a few Croatian political emigrants of the events from May 1945 through their works; Vinko Nikolić as the editor of a prominent emigrant newspaper Hrvatska revija, Petar Bareza and Danijel Crljen as the associate of the same, and John Ivan Prcela as the prominent Croatian political emigrant in the United States
