Abstract
Kroz ovaj diplomski rad pratimo razvoj diplomatskih i političkih odnosa Svete Stolice s civilnim i vjerskim vlastima različitih državnih zajednica koje su postojale na hrvatskom povijesnom prostoru (današnja RH i BiH), ponajviše tijekom posljednjih 150 godina (od Austro-ugarske nagodbe do danas). Na početku rada govori se o temeljnim odrednicama diplomacije Svete Stolice, kako o onim teološkim, tako i o političkim. Dio rada se bavi i odnosima Svete Stolice s Kraljevinom Jugoslavijom i SFRJ te političkim i društvenim stanjem u tim državama, čije je poznavanje neophodno za razumijevanje uloge Svete Stolice u kasnijem procesu međunarodnog priznanja Republike Hrvatske kao suverene i samostalne države. Završni dio rada posvećen je diplomatskim aktivnostima Svete Stolice tijekom krize u SFRJ i samom priznanju Republike Hrvatske.
