Abstract
Petog travnja 2004. MKSJ iznio je optužnicu protiv Jadranka Prlića i drugih, među kojima je general bojnik Slobodan Praljak bio jedan od njih, za sudjelovanje u udruženom zločinačkom pokretu čiji je krajnji cilj bio uspostavljanje etnički homogene države po nazivom Hrvatska Zajednica Herceg - Bosna. Prema mišljenju tužiteljstva, hrvatski vojni i politički vođe urotili su se okupirati i etnički očistiti spomenuto područje i u konačnici ga združiti s tada nezavisnom i međunarodni priznatom Republikom Hrvatskom. Međutim, napori hrvatskih političara i Hrvata koji su tada živjeli u Bih sugeriraju drugačiju sliku stvari. Ovaj rad istražuje zanimljivosti slučaja Prlić et al. i pruža uvid u nekonzistentnost ne samo argumenata tužiteljstva nego i sudskog procesa u cijelosti. Nadalje, također ulazi u dubinu tvrdnje u nevinost Slobodana Praljka kao i u nesretni niz događaja koji se zbio nakon završetak suđenja i izricanja presude.
Abstract (english)
On the 5th of April 2004. ICTY issued an indictment against Jadranko Prlić and others, one of which being major general Slobodan Praljak, for participating in a joint criminal enterprise whose end goal was establishing an ethnically homogenous state called the Croatian Community of Herceg-Bosna. According to the prosecution, Croatian military and political leaders conspired to occupy and ethnically cleanse the land in question and eventually merge it with the, at the time, newly independent and internationally recognized Republic of Croatia. However, the efforts made by both Croatian politicians and Croats living in BiH at the time suggest otherwise. This thesis explores the intricacies of the Prlić et al. case and provides insight into inconsistencies of not only the prosecutions arguments, but the whole trial process as well. Furthermore, it also delves into Slobodan Praljak’s claim to innocence and unfortunate events that unfolded following the trial’s conclusion and sentence reading.
