Abstract (croatian)
Propituje se odnos heterotopije, distopije i utopije u romanima Gazela i Kosac, Godina potopa i Ludi Adam. Margaret Atwood predstavlja topos katastrofe kojim navodi na mogućnost ekološkog endizma. Kronotop apokalipse učestalo se veže uz žanr distopije. Proza Margaret Atwood specifična je jer zajedno uključuje distopiju i utopiju; unatoč apokaliptičnom ambijentu i dehumanizaciji postoje izolirane skupine koje žive utopijski. Michel Foucault opisuje utopiju kao društva dovedena do savršenstva ili barem kao naličje toga. Margaret Atwood prikazuje genetski inženjering kojemu je cilj stvoriti savršenu vrstu. Termin ustopija uvodi Margaret Atwood, a odnosi se na supostojanje distopije i utopije. Odnos utopije i distopije uočava se i u obrazovanju, gdje se prestižniji fakulteti prikazuju utopijski. Smrtonosna pošast koja je trebala biti kraj čovječanstva ipak ostavlja preživjele iza sebe i time nas uvodi u post-apokalipsu. Michel Foucault navodi da su heterotopije zbiljska mjesta koja su istovremeno nezbiljska, protu-mjesta. Sva tri romana sadrže igre kojima se kritiziraju suvremeni društveni problemi, a koji time nose značajnu semantičku ulogu. Igre su realne jer zbilja postoje, ali su nerealne naspram okolnih prostora, što ih čini heterotopijama.
