Abstract
Temeljni koncept profesionalnog razvoja odgojitelja je cjeloživotno učenje kao otvoren, dinamičan, i trajan proces različitih oblika formalnog, neformalnog i informalnog učenja. Danas nije dovoljno formalno obrazovanje za kvalitetno obavljanje odgojiteljskog posla. Moderna vremena i svakodnevne promjene traže od odgojitelja da svojim znanjima može adekvatno odgovoriti u procesu rada. To se može samo cjeloživotnim učenjem. Europski parlament (2006.) je izašao s prijedlogom ključnih kompetencija cjeloživotnog učenja, smatrajući da je nužan razvoj vještina i kompetencija za sudjelovanje u društvu i prilagodbi stalno mijenjajućem svijetu rada. Odgojitelj treba razvijati svoje profesionalne kompetencije i biti odgovoran i kod stručnog usavršavanja odlučiti što može sam, a za što treba pomoć, potporu i suradnju s drugima (Dozza i Cavrini, 2012; Criddle, 2012).
Abstract (english)
The basic concept of th eprofessional development of an educator is life long education as an open, dynamic and continuous process of differentty pesofformal, nonformal andi nformal learning. Nowadays, formal education isnt sufficient for ane ducator to do a quality job in his field. Modern times and daily changes demand that an educator can respondad equately in the work process which can only becarried out with life long education. European parliament (2006.) broughtout a proposal containing key competences of life long education, deeming thatt he development of skills and competencesis necessary for participationin society and for the adjustment in the ever changing world of career working. An educator needs to develop his professional competences as well as beresponsible when it comes to deciding whether he needs or doesnt need the help of others in the process of professional development (Dozza and Cavrini, 2012; Criddle, 2012).
