Cultural - artistic - historical competencies include a wide range of different knowledge, skills and abilities that differ in the field of culture, art and history and are manifested through different activities in the life of each individual. The main goal of this research was to examine and analyze the attitudes of experts in the understanding, roles and didactic - methodological solutions of cultural - artistic - historical competencies in children and youth with an emphasis on everyday and educational context. To conduct research, an open-ended interview/ questionnaire was designed with the participation of eleven respondents, experts from various fields related to culture, art and history (kindergarten teachers, teachers, professors, curator), and who have contact in working with children and young people. The results of the research showed that in the opinion of the research participants, cultural - artistic - historical competencies are not sufficiently represented in the educational process, despite their importance in everyday life. Namely, the respondents recognized greater needs for field work, experiential learning, projects, workshops and modern forms of learning and teaching. They also pointed out the problems that are often encountered in the implementation of these activities, such as lack of time, poor organization and lack of support from the authorities. Therefore, the need for better planning, organization and realization of the process of acquiring competencies in this area, greater time and material resources intended for their acquisition and greater popularization of the social - humanistic and artistic field is emphasized.
