Social realism in its various forms has appeared on several occasions throughout history (mostly in the 19th and 20th centuries). As an artistic direction, that is, a way of expression, he gave a strong critique of social orders. In addition, its important role was to enable civilians to become aware and to decide their own destiny. On the other hand, socialist realism, despite its closeness in motives and expression, is a radically different direction that served the communist state system to strengthen its power and conceal the real image and dissatisfaction of the proletariat. The transition from revolution to the dogma of Marxist ideas was also accompanied by art that moved from social realism that liberates the spirit to socialist that limits it and does not allow it to develop. Censorship is crucial for authoritarian regimes because they do not allow for natural change in human consciousness and rebellion against regimes. Artistic screams allow society to exist in two dimensions: in an unjust world and in the imagination in which it creates the world as it should be. This scream can be a germ of progress, and it can be stifled by censorship, most often it depends on the support of the people, ie civil society, and on a political system that may or may not provide fertile ground for social change.
