Abstract
Predmet istraživanja rada jest sakralna baština otoka viškog arhipelaga s naglaskom na sintezu sakralne arhitekture. Prvi je dio pregled povijesnih mijena i razvoja kulture te sakralnog života na području arhipelaga od prapovijesti do pojave kršćanstva. Drugi dio posvećen je kršćanskoj arhitekturi, odnosno arhitekturi crkava i samostana koji su obrađeni u kronološkom slijedu uz primjećivanje njihovih međusobnih poveznica i zavisnosti. U ovom je dijelu naglasak na sakralnim objektima na kojima zamjećujemo kontinuitet svetog mjesta i funkcije tijekom različitih povijesnih razdoblja ili pak višefazno adaptiranje te transformacije, najčešće župnih crkava.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this research is the sacral heritage of the islands of Vis archipelago, which focuses on the synthesis of sacral arhitecture. First part is the review of historical changes and development of culture and sacred life in the archipelago area from prehistoric times until the arrival of Christianity. The second part is devoted to the Christian architecture, i.e. the architecture of churches and monasteries given in cronological order with the observation of interconnections and dependencies. In this part, the accent is on sacral buildings on which we may notice the continuity of sacred place and its function during different historical periods or the several stages of adaptations and transformations, most often of parish churches.
