Abstract
Tijelo i tjelesnost u posljednje vrijeme postaju sve aktualnije teme u sociološkim istraživanjima, za razliku od prije, kada im se nije pridavala neka veća važnost kao zasebnim segmentima. Itekako je važno imati zdravo i aktivno tijelo kako bi se moglo sudjelovati u važnim društvenim procesima. Iako se tjelesni nedostaci u postmodernom razdoblju veoma lako uklanjaju zahvaljujući uznapredovaloj tehnologiji, poželjno je da osoba razvije što pozitivniju predodžbu o vlastitom tijelu (body image) i time ojača emotivnu komponentu koja uključuje pozitivna i negativna osjećanja koja su povezana s izgledom i s mnogim drugim tjelesnim iskustvima. U istraživanju je korištena kvantitativna metoda anketa s upitnikom kao instrumentom, a predmet istraživanja je percepcija vlastitog tijela djevojaka i mladića učenika srednjih škola na području grada Metkovića. Opći cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati odnos i (ne)zadovoljstvo prema vlastitom tijelu iz perspektive srednjoškolaca. Istraživanje je pokazalo da srednjoškolci na području grada Metkovića ulažu u svoje tijelo tako što brinu o higijeni (tijela, kose i zubi), tjelesno su aktivni, ne preskaču najvažniji obrok u danu – doručak, te imaju raznovrsnu prehranu. Također, iznose veoma pozitivna mišljenja o vlastitom tijelu i nisu skloni provođenju dijeta.
Abstract (english)
Body and physicality are becoming more and more present in contemporary sociological research, unlike in the past, when they were not given particular importance as separate segments. It is very important to have a healthy and active body in order to take part in important social processes. Although physical defects in the post-modern period can be easily solved thanks to advanced technology, a person should still develop a positive body image, in that way strengthening the emotional component that includes the positive and negative feelings associated with physical appearance, as well as with other physical experiences. A quantitative method was used in the study, with questionnaire as the instrument, while the subject was male and female high school students' perception of their own bodies in the area of the city of Metkovic. The general object of the study was to test the relationship and (dis)satisfaction towards their own bodies from high school students' point of view. The study has shown that high school students in Metković invest in their bodies by taking care of their hygiene (body, hair and teeth), they are physically active, they do not skip the most important meal of the day - breakfast, and they have a varied diet. In addition, they have very positive opinions about their bodies and are not prone to dieting.
