Abstract
Dr. Franjo Tuđman jedan je od bitnijih ličnosti hrvatske, ali i suvremene europske povijesti. Prateći njegovu biografiju, sagledavamo njegov životni put od Velikog Trgovišća do odlaska u Zagreb na školovanje, gdje se aktivnije počeo zanimati za povijest i povijesnu znanost, pa sve do njegova političkog djelovanja i najpoznatije uloge kao prvog predsjednika suvremene Hrvatske. Kao aktivan član Komunističke partije i jednim od boraca Narodnooslobodilačkog pokreta uživo je pratio tijek događanja u Drugom svjetskom ratu, tj. na području Hrvatske, te s tom temom aktivno bavi u znanstvenom radu. U većini svojih djela prevladavala mu je tema NOB-a i ustaškog režima na području Hrvatske. Kroz njegova djela navedena u ovom radu pratimo tijek NOB-a na području Hrvatske, počevši prvotno od sloma Kraljevine Jugoslavije, jedne od tema kojoj se Tuđman uvijek vraća pa sve do okupacije Njemačke i Italije, te ustanka jugoslavenskih naroda na otpor i revoluciju. Njegova djela treba čitati s promišljanjem u kakvom je vremenu zapravo Tuđman pisao i za koga, iako je već 70- ih godina proglašavan nacionalistom, jer se često u radovima osvrtao na Hrvatsku i hrvatske probleme, što u tadašnje vrijeme nije mogao biti slučaj. No, treba priznati kako je Franjo Tuđman dao veliki doprinos tadašnjoj historiografiji, čiji se utjecaj protegnuo i do današnjih dana, posebice zbog njegove predsjedničke uloge 90-ih godina, gdje je upotrijebio svo svoje vojno-teorijsko znanje.
Abstract (english)
Dr. Franjo Tuđman is one of the most important figures in Croatian and European contemporary history. Following his biography, we look at his life journey from Veliko Trgovišće to Zagreb, to study further and where he became more actively interested in history and historical science, all the way to his political activities and the most famous role as the first president of modern Croatia. As an active member of the Communist Party and one of the fighters of the National Liberation Movement, he followed the course of events in the Second World War, ie in Croatia, and actively deals with this topic in his scientific work. In most of his works, the theme of the National Liberation War and the Ustasha regime in Croatia prevailed. Through his works listed in this paper, we follow the course of the National Liberation War in Croatia, starting with the collapse of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, one of the topics to which Tudjman always returns to the occupation of Germany and Italy, and the uprising of the Yugoslav peoples to resistance and revolution. His works should be read with consideration of what time Tudjman actually wrote and for whom, although he was declared a nationalist in the 1970s, because he often referred to Croatia and Croatian problems, which could not have been the case at the time. However, it should be acknowledged that Franjo Tuđman made a great contribution to historiography at the time, whose influence has extended to the present day, especially because of his presidential role in the 1990s, where he used all his military-theoretical knowledge.
