Although religion comes in many shapes and it includes different institutions, in Croatia traditional religiosity is especially widespread, mostly in the form of Catholic denomination. Traditional religiosity has been revitalized in Croatia after the year 1990. and it brought with it the processes of desecularization and deprivatization on a national level. Still, a key question raises itself: how do young people perceive traditional religiosity? The effects of modernization create a fertile ground for the development of alternative, non-institutionalized religiosity, especially amongst young people. Those effects also affect the values of young people which change under the effect of modernization and form new value orientations. The purpose of this work was to see how students of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split perceive traditional religiosity, do they live according to it and do they think the modern man needs it in his life. Also, the students were asked about their values and value orientations for the purpose of getting a bigger picture of the culture of young people in Croatia. The results showed that the Catholic denomination is widely spread amongst students, they widely accept the teachings of the Catholic Church and a large number of them think that traditional religiosity is needed in a modern man's life. Despite that, the results for religious practice are lower which shows that students don't practice their religion regularly. Young people still cherish traditional values, but don't completely accept the aspects of traditionalism on the cultural field and of autoritism on the political field.
