Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
This thesis examines the daily life in Imotski in the period from 1910 to 1918. Geographic position and the possibility of economic exploitation are presented. In addition, state of the economy in those years is chronologically depicted, which was generally poor, particularly in 1917. and 1918. Bad geographic position contributed to the poor traffic and telephone connections as well as organization of transportation of people and mail. The daily life of people in those years flowed in privation, poverty and hunger. Despite this state, people in Imotski tried to stimulate construction. Education has not yet been sufficiently developed, and teachers complained on poor salaries. The cultural life of the city was not significantly developed. Joseph Virgil Peric stands out as the most important person from that period.
