Abstract
Čovjekove egzistencijalne potrebe za hranom, vodom i odjećom, ali i urođena radoznalost, natjerale su ga na potragu za istim. Iz tog je razloga bio primoran zaploviti morem, nepoznatim i neistraženim putovima gdje je nailazio na mnoge prepreke. Zbog nepovoljnih vremenskih prilika na Jadranu, jakih vjetrova i struja, ratnih i političkih stanja ili trgovine, čovjek traži orijentir koji će mu sugerirati mjesto sigurnosti, skloništa ili duhovnog utočišta. Bez orijentira, moreplovac bi teško uspio... More opstati, stoga se grade sakralna mjesta koja su bila od velikog značaja za sve koji su plovili morem. Na području užeg dijela splitskog akvatorija postoji nekoliko takvih primjera, od starog do novoga vijeka. Dokazi važnosti sakralnih objekata u maritimnom kontekstu, mogu se naslutiti putem geomorfoloških osobina mjesta na kojima su građeni, postojanju vrijednih pomorskih zavjetnih darova i izbora titulara crkve. Abstract (english)
Man's existential needs for food, water and clothing, but also innate curiosity, forced him to search for it. For this reason he was forced to sail the sea, through unknown and unexplored routes where he encountered many obstacles. Due to unfavorable weather conditions on the Adriatic, strong winds and currents, war and political conditions or trade, man seeked a landmark that would suggest a place of security, shelter or spiritual refuge. Without landmarks, a sailor would find it difficult... More to survive, so sacral sites were being built that were of great importance to all who sailed the sea. In inner area of the Split aquatorium, there are several examples, from the antiquity to the modern age. Evidence of sacral objects that are important in a maritime context can be inferred through the geomorphological features of the place where they were built, the existence of valuable naval votive offerings, and the choice of church titulars.
