This paper deals with the development of industry in the area of Cetina. First of all, the boundaries of the area should be determined geographically, as well as political situation. In addition, literacy and the improvement of the infrastructure which was destroyed in the Second World War were also mentioned as an important prerequisite for industrialization. In the same way, the political and social framework within which Yugoslavia was located, and within Yugoslavia the Cetina region, will be presented, so the paper will chronologically present the industrialization process of the Cetina region, looking back at the already mentioned political and social conditions. In order to make the work more transparent, the "upper" and "lower" course of the Cetina river was separated, and the development of industrial facilities in the area of Cetina river was shown decade by decade. As the "lower" course of the Cetina River was more developed, the first factories in the Cetina Region were established in that area - the carbide and cyanimide factory "Dalmacija" in Dugi Rat, the pasta factory "Cetina", the cement factory "Renko Šperac" and the knitwear factory "Galeb". ". They were joined a little later by the factories in the "upper" course of the Cetina - the spinning and thread factory "Dalmatinka" and the plastics factory "Cetinka". Therefore, the rise of these and several newer factories will be followed during the second half of the 20th century, as well as their decline, that is, their fate in the last years of the same century.
