Abstract
U sklopu rada se izlažu argumentacije kao i interpretacije rasprave o monopsihizmu i polipsihizmu na primjeru tri mislioca arapske filozofije srednjeg vijeka; Al Farabi, Avicenna i Averroes , obuhvaćajući pri tome samo mali dio jedne od najvećih problematika ovog područja Radi se dakle o pitanju jedinstvenog djelatnog uma i mnoštva djelatnih umova, ko je dovodi u pitanje vidove čovjeka do kojih nam je najviše stalo, a to jesu naša individualnost i besmrtnost naše duše. Pri tom se u samome početku naglašava nerazriješenost već navedenog pitanja u sklopu Aristotelove filozofije, na čija se naučavanja upra vo navedeni mislioci i pozivaju. Stoga gledajući na izložena umovanja ovih arapskih filozofa, valja reći da su ista svojevrsne interpretacija Aristotelova nauka koji ostaje otvoren daljnjim interpretacijama sve do danas.
Abstract (english)
As part of the paper, the arguments and interpretations of the debate on monopsychism and polypsychism are presented using three thinkers of medieval Arab philosophy as an example, namely ; Al Farabi, Avicenna and Averroes, covering only a small portion of one of the biggest dilemmas in this field Furthermore, i t is an inquiry into the single a ctive mind and a multitude of active minds, which calls into question the aspects of man that we have grown to care the most about, namely our individuality and the immortality of our soul. At the very beginning, the unsolved nature of the above mentioned question within Aristotle's philosophy, whose teachings are referred to by the above mentioned thinkers, is emphasized. Therefore, looking at the exhibited thoughts of these Arab philosophers, it should be said that they are all some kind of a personal i nterpretation of Aristotle's teachings, which themself, remain open to further interpretations until today.
