This graduate thesis investigates the development of feminist artistic practice in Croatia, examining theoretical frameworks, historical trends and concrete examples of female artists who contributed to the shaping of feminist interventions within the Croatian art scene. The paper deals with the differentiation of women's and feminist art, the historical context and evolution of feminist art and criticism, and the influential perspectives of scholars such as Griselda Pollock and Linda Nochlin. Through a focused analysis, the paper highlights the significant contributions of artists such as Sanja Iveković and Vlasta Delimar, whose works question social norms, question identity constructs and deal with the role of women in contemporary society. Furthermore, the paper explores examples of feminist intervention in contemporary artistic practices, examining curatorial projects and exhibitions that include feminist themes. The findings demonstrate the lasting impact of feminist art on Croatian visual culture, as it continues to serve as a powerful tool for social commentary and reflection on gender equality and social justice. In conclusion, this work emphasizes the permanent relevance and significance of feminist artistic practice in Croatia and beyond.
