Abstract (english)
Polysemy, or the property of a linguistic sign to have more than one meaning, is a phenomenon omnipresent not only in the Italian language, but also in other world languages. The thesis La polisemia nella lingua italiana (Polysemy in the Italian language) aims to analyse the semantic phenomenon of polysemy from different linguistic angles. The first topic covered in the thesis is the relationship of polysemy with other semantic phenomena, such as homonymy and rhetorical figures. The...
