The paper presents the role of emotions in the moral development of children of early and preschool age. We present the nature of emotions based on the thinking of the American philosopher Martha Nussbaum, who considers them to be evaluative judgments. The family has the greatest influence on the proper development of emotions, followed by the educational system, in which children are included earlier and earlier. Socio-emotional learning is an important resource that helps children understand their own and other people's emotions and establish quality relationships with others. Moral development corresponds to emotional development, and it develops from an early age, in which adults play an important role because they transmit to children the social constructions of emotions and society's values. Morals and emotions are connected because without emotions such as love and compassion, we cannot perceive situations and the world in a moral sence. The "Child and Emotions" project, which was implemented in the preschool education system, is one of the examples of socio-emotional learning, which helps children in developing moral awareness and acquiring moral convictions, so that they can make moral decisions and act accordingly.
