Abstract
Poremećeni obrasci jedenja sve su prisutniji u suvremenom društvu, osobito među mladima, pri čemu različiti sociokulturni čimbenici igraju ključnu ulogu u njihovom razvoju. Ovaj rad bavi se istraživanjem utjecaja medija, obitelji i vršnjaka na percepciju tijela i prehrambene navike studenata Sveučilišta u Splitu, što je ujedno i temeljni cilj istraživanja. Specifični ciljevi istraživanja uključuju ispitivanje povezanosti između medijskog sadržaja vezanog uz prehranu i dijete s poremećenim prehrambenim obrascima, analizu utjecaja obiteljskog i vršnjačkog pritiska na prehrambena ponašanja, te istraživanje pritiska koji mediji stvaraju na studente u vezi s tjelesnim izgledom. Istraživanje je provedeno u kolovozu 2024. godine koristeći online anketu na uzorku od 200 studenata sa Sveučilišta u Splitu. Rezultati su pokazali da mediji i obitelj imaju najveći utjecaj na oblikovanje percepcije tijela i prehrambenih navika studenata, dok su vršnjaci također važni, ali manje dominantni čimbenici. Također, utvrđeno je da su studenti pod većim pritiskom medijskih sadržaja skloniji promjenama u prehrambenim navikama i češće se upuštaju u dijete kako bi se približili idealima prikazanim u medijima. Istraživanje je potvrdilo kako pritisak medija i nezadovoljstvo tijelom pridonose razvoju poremećenih obrazaca jedenja.
Abstract (english)
Disordered eating is increasingly prevalent in modern society, especially among young people, with various sociocultural factors playing a key role in their development. This paper explores the influence of media, family, and peers on body perception and eating habits among students at the University of Split, which is also the primary aim of the research. The specific objectives of the research include examining the relationship between media content related to health, dieting, and disordered eating patterns, analyzing the impact of family and peer pressure on eating behaviors, and investigating the pressure that media exerts on students regarding body image. The research was conducted through an online survey in August 2024, with a sample of 200 students from the University of Split. The results showed that media and family have the greatest influence on shaping students' body perceptions and eating habits, while peers are also important but less dominant factors. Additionally, it was found that students under greater media pressure are more likely to change their eating habits and engage in dieting to align with the ideals portrayed in the media. The research confirmed that media pressure and body dissatisfaction contribute to the development of disordered eating.
