Abstract
Današnje suvremeno društvo predstavlja novi izazov strukturi i funkcioniranju obitelji, a posebice stilu života, obiteljskim vrijednostima, kvaliteti obiteljskih odnosa. S obzirom na opseg i tempo društvenih promjena i suvremene trendove i procese, tema ovog rada bila je istražiti percepcije neoženjenih muškaraca o institucijama braka i obitelji. Sukladno tomu, temeljni cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati mišljenja i stavove neoženjenih muškaraca o sklapanju braka i osnivanju obitelji. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 15 neoženjenih muškaraca u dobi od 18 do 29 godina s područja grada Sinja, a podatci su dobiveni metodom polustrukturiranog intervjua. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju kako mladi Sinjani u skoroj budućnosti ne žele stupiti u brak i osnovati vlastitu obitelj, ali brak i obitelj smatraju vrlo važnim društvenim institucijama. Smatraju kako su liberalnijih stavova od svojih roditelja. Za uspješan brak nisu im važni ni materijalni status, vjera ni socijalno podrijetlo.
Abstract (english)
Today's modern society presents new challenges for structure and functioning of families, and especially the style of life, family values, the quality of family relationships. Considering extent and pace of social change and modern trends and processes, the subject of this study was to investigate the perception of unmarried men about institutions of marriage and family. In accordance with that, fundamental goal of this study was investigate the opinions and attitudes of single men on marriage and starting a family. The study included 15 unmarried men aged 18 to 29 years from the city of Sinj, and data was obtained by the method of semi-structured interviews. Research data shows thath jung men from Sinj don't want to marry and start their own family in near future, but marriage and family for them are very important social instituions. They considered that they have more liberal opinions than their parents. For succesful marriage, material status or religion, neither social background, are not important to them.
