Abstract
Ovaj rad ispituje i opisuje etimologiju toponima naselja općine Otok: Otoka, Udovičića, Rude, Gale, Ovrlje i Korita. Toponimi su prikupljeni intervjuiranjem lokalnog stanovništva te proučavanjem karata općine Otok. Ukupno su prikupljena te opisana 152 toponima. Prikupljeni toponimi su uglavnom slavenskog porijekla, ali postoje i neki koji su motivirani domaćim apelativima koji su turskog, grčkog, latinskog, talijanskog, mletačkog, mađarskog te njemačkog porijekla. Što se tiče motivacije imena, zastupljeni su toponimi različite motivacije. Najveći broj toponima su toponimi imenovani prema izgledu ili osobitostima terena, toponimi imenovani prema zemljopisnim i gospodarskim terminima te toponimi antroponimnog postojanja. Osim njih tu su još i toponimijske metafore, toponimi fitonimnog porijekla te toponimi zoonimnog porijekla Nisu zanemarivi ni kulturni toponimi kao ni oni koji govore o povijesnim prilikama. Motivacija imena je kod nekih toponima nepoznata.
