Abstract
U radu se raspravlja o interkulturalnosti kao izazovu suvremenog doba. Napretkom tehnologije i ekonomskim migracijama različite kulture dolaze u međusobni doticaj pa nastaju multikulturalne sredine. U takvim sredinama često dolazi do sukoba zbog rasne, vjerske, etničke ili jezične netrpeljivosti. Zasnovan na dijalogu koji sprječava sukobe, interkulturalni pristup trebao bi omogućiti suživot u ravnopravnosti i poštovanju. Institucijama koje bi trebale provoditi ideju interkulturalnosti potrebni su učitelji s interkulturalnim kompetencijama i interkulturalni kurikulum. Začeci interkulturalnog odgoja i obrazovanja nalaze se u obitelji i obiteljskom okruženju. Jedino zajedničkim djelovanjem roditelja, djece i ustanove moguće je stvoriti osnovu za suživot i poštovanje među različitim kulturnim grupama.

Parallel abstract (English)
The final paper is the discusion regarding to interculturality as a modern age challenge. As a result of the tehnological improvement and economic migrations, various cultures encounter each other so multicultural souroundings come to place. In these souroundings there are often conflicts based on race, religion, ethnic or language antipathy. Based on dialogue, which prevents conflicts, intercultural aproach should provide coexistence in equality and respect. The institutions which should carry out the intercultural idea require educators with intercultural competence and intercultural curriculum. Family and family surroundings are the foundations of intercultural education and upbringing. Parents, children and institutions, only by working together, will it be possible to create foundations for coexistence and respect between various cultural groups.
