Abstract
Doping je najveća pošast suvremenog sporta pa nažalost ni atletika nije izuzetak. U želji da nadmaše suparnike i ostvare rezultat, mnogi atletičari pokušavaju dosegnuti vrh uzimajući zabranjena sredstva. Doping predstavlja opasnost u sportu iz nekoliko razloga; ugrožava zdravlje sportaša, u osnovi predstavlja varanje i u suprotnosti je sa samom biti sporta. Svjetska antidopinška agencija se na različite načine bori u suzbijanju ove pojave. Napredak postoji no potrebni su daljnji kvalitetni koraci koji će podići učinkovitost u borbi protiv dopinga.
Abstract (english)
Doping is greatest plague of modern sport and athletics is not an exception. In order to outplay competitors and to accomplish result, many athletes are trying to reach top by taking prohibited substances. Doping presents threat in sport for several reasons; it harms athlete's health, basically it is cheating and it is opposite to the essence of sport itself. World Anti-Doping Agency is fighting in different ways to combat this phenomenon. There is some progress but further quality steps are needed to increase efficiency in fighting against doping.
