Abstract
Provedeno istraživanje usmjerilo se na ispitivanje povezanosti doživljaja sreće te različitih stilova donošenja odluka. Cilj ovog istraživanja je bio ispitati doprinos različitih kognitivnih stilova subjektivnoj dobrobit pojedinca, koja se sastoji od kognitivnih procjena o zadovoljstvu životom te procjena o učestalosti doživljaja pozitivnog i negativnog afekta. Svi ispitani kognitivni stilovi (kognitivna refleksivnost, potreba za spoznajom, povjerenje u intuiciju i sklonost praznovjerju) pokazali su se statistički značajnima u objašnjenju zadovoljstva životom; kognitivna refleksivnost, potreba za spoznajom te povjerenje u intuiciju pozitivno su povezani sa procijenjenim zadovoljstvom životom, dok je viša vrijednost na skali praznovjerja predviđala niže zadovoljstvo životom. Što se tiče afektivnih komponenti subjektivne dobrobiti, više vrijednosti potrebe za spoznajom i povjerenja u intuiciju su predviđale viši stupanj pozitivnog afekta, dok su viši rezultati na skali sklonosti praznovjerju predviđali viši stupanj doživljenog negativnog afekta. Također, istraživanjem su se ispitale razlike u subjektivnoj dobrobiti s obzirom na spol sudionika. Razlike u spolu statistički su značajne u području pozitivnog afekta gdje rezultati pokazuju da su ženske sudionice doživljavale značajno više pozitivnog afekta od muških sudionika. Dobiveni rezultati upućuju na veliku važnost kognitivnih stilova za subjektivnu dobrobit pojedinca te su kao takvi vrijedan predmet budućih istraživanja koja bi pomogla u razumijevanju same sreće.
Abstract (english)
The goal of this study was to examine the contribution of different cognitive styles (cognitive reflection, need for cognition, faith in intuition and superstitious thinking) to a well-being of individual, which consists of cognitive valuation of life satisfaction and measures of frequency of experiencing positive and negative affects. All cognitive styles were significant predictors of life satisfaction; cognitive reflection, need for cognition and faith in intuition were positively correlated with life satisfaction, while higher value on a scale of superstitious thinking predicted lower life satisfaction. Regarding the affective component of well-being, higher values of need for cognition and faith in intuition predicted higher degree of positive affect, while higher value on a scale of superstitious thinking predicted higher grade of negative affect. In addition, we examined the differences in subjective well-being regarding participants' gender. Gender differences were significant in the domain of positive affect where female participants experienced significantly more positive affect than male participants. The results indicate great importance of cognitive styles for individuals' wellbeing and are therefore valuable subject for future studies on happiness and well-being.
