Abstract
Afroamerička etnička skupina podijelila je iskustvo života u Americi koji je bio sve, samo ne prihvatljiv i ugodan. Usred njima najtežeg životnog razdoblja uspjeli su proizvesti neke od najboljih kulturalnih izuma koje je ta zemlja ikad vidjela, a to su blues i jazz. Glazba im je pomogla da podijele svoju bol i prenesu emocije koje inače, u to vrijeme, ne bi isplivale na površinu. Cilj ovog rada je ukazati na povezanost glazbe, osobito blues-a i jazz-a, i književnosti u romanima Toni Morrison, jedne od najznačajnijih spisateljica Afroameričke književnosti. Romani koji će se razmatrati su Beloved, Jazz i Song of Solomon.
Abstract (english)
The African American ethnic group in the United States shared an experience that was anything but acceptable and pleasurable. Amidst the hardest period of their lives, they managed to produce some of the best cultural inventions that the country has ever witnessed, and these are blues and jazz. Music helped them communicate their pain and express emotions that otherwise would not resurface. The aim of this thesis is to show how music, particularly blues and jazz, and literature are connected through the examination of works of one of the most significant African American writers, Toni Morrison. Novels that will be examined are Beloved, Jazz and Song of Solomon.
