Abstract
U ovom radu se analizira (kroz pregled istraživanja) povezanost očekivanja roditelja i školskog uspjeha djeteta. Budući da je obitelj primarna socijalizacijska zajednica u kojoj dijete stječe vrijednosti, stavove, znanja i vještine, ona ima trajan utjecaj na život djeteta. Stoga očekivanja, koja imaju roditelji od svoje djece (osobito na akademskom planu), mogu uvelike odrediti njihovu kvalitetu budućnosti. Rezultati istraživanja pokazuju da visoka očekivanja roditelja pozitivno koreliraju sa školskim postignućem djece, baš kao što niska očekivanja koreliraju s lošijim školskim postignućem. Može se reći da očekivanja roditelja utječu na školsko postignuće djece, neovisno o tome jesu li visoka ili niska.
Abstract (english)
In this paper it will be made analysis (through an overview of the works) of parental expectations and academic achievement of the child. Since the family is primary socialization community in which child gains the value, attitudes, knowledge and skills, family has lasting infuence on the life of the child. Therefore expectations, that parents have of their children (especially in the academic aspect), can largely determine the quality of their future. Research results indicate that high parental expectations positively correlate with children school's achievement, just as low expectations correlate with poorer school achievement. It can be said that parental expectations influence school achievement, regardless of whether they are high or low.
