Abstract
Glavni cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati rodne razlike u razvoju čitalačke pismenosti učenika osnovne i srednje škole korištenjem anketnog upitnika. Prvi dio rada oslanja se na teoretsku razradu pojma čitalačke pismenosti i najvažnijih aspekata procesa čitanja kao što su to motivacija za čitanje te korištenje strategija čitanja. Na kraju prvog dijela navode se neki od načina suočavanja s problemom razvoja čitalačke pismenosti kod dječaka. Drugi dio rada odnosi se na prikaz empirijskog istraživanja koje je provedeno u dvije osnovne i tri srednje škole u Omišu i Splitu te je istraživanjem obuhvaćeno sveukupno 192 učenika. Rezultati pokazuju da učenici veoma slabo čitaju. Usporedbom učenika po spolu primjećuje se da djevojčice dijele pozitivnije stavove prema čitanju u odnosu na dječake.
Abstract (english)
The general aim of this study was to examine gender differences in reading literacy among primary and highschool students, which was accomplished by conducting a questionnaire. The first part of this study theoretically elaborates the term reading literacy and the most important aspects of the reading process such as the motivation for reading and the usage of reading strategies. The end of the first part gives an overview of several methods developed to enhance boys' reading literacy. The second part of this study refers to the presentation of empirical research conducted in two primary schools and three highschools in Omiš and Split. The questionnaire included 192 students. The results show that students do not like to read. When it comes to the gender differences, girls tend to have more positive attitude towards reading when compared with boys.
