Abstract
Narona, jedna od najvažnijih gradova na istočnoj obali Jadrana smjestila se u selu Vid, tri kilometra od Metkovića. Rad je tematski podijeljen je na tri cjeline. Prvi dio rada prati povijest antičke Narone, arheološka istraživanja kroz dva stoljeća i prezentira važniju spomeničku građu. U drugom dijelu ove radnje prikazano je razdoblje kasne antike u Naroni kada je na teritoriju provincije Dalmacije postojala Naronitanska biskupija. Posljednji dio rada posvećen je radu muzeja i pozitivnom utjecaju arheoloških istraživanja na mjesnu zajednicu Vida, koji su itekako imale veze u stvaranju institucije kakvu danas poznajemo.
Abstract (english)
Narona, one of the most important ancient cities on the eastern Adriatic coast, is located in a small village Vid, 3 km from Metković. This thesis is thematically divided into three parts. First part of the thesis is followed by the chapters history of Ancient Narona, archelogical researches troughout two centuries and the presentation of the most important ancient cultural heritage. The second part is focused on the period of Late antiquity in Narona when a Diocese of Narona was established in the teritory of the Roman province of Dalmatia. The last part is dedicated to the Narona Archaeological Museum, its importance for the local community that also had a great impact in building the future for the institution that we all know today.
