Abstract
Tema ovoga rada odnosi se na simboliku cvijeća zapaženu u djelima talijanskih umjetnika djelatnih na zapadnoj i istočnoj obali Jadrana tijekom razdoblja baroka. Predmetom proučavanja je skupina zapadnojadranskih i istočnojadranskih likovnih djela koja ocrtava ulogu cvjetne simbolike u datom razdoblju. Izuzev posljednja dva primjera, od kojih su oba locirana na istočnoj obali, u četiri se navrata u odnos stavlja po dva primjera sa suprotnih strana Jadrana. Prilikom odabira parova u svrhu komparativne analize, u obzir su uzeti autori, tematika i vrste cvijeća koje uprizoruju. U kontekstu ikonografske analize problematizira se simbolika cvijeća, odnosno njen udio u prikrivenom značenju djela. Ujedno se razmatraju različite interpretacijske mogućnosti cvjetne simbolike, ali i stilska rješenja pojedinih autora.
Abstract (english)
The subject matter of this thesis refers to flower symbolism observed in the works of Italian artists active on the West and East coast of the Adriatic during the Baroque period. The focus of analysis is symbolism of flowers outlined in the works of western and eastern Adriatic at the given period. Apart from the final two examples, both of which are located on the eastern coast, on four separate occasions, two examples from the opposite sides of the Adriatic are put into relation. In the process of selecting them, authors, themes, and depicted flowers were taken into account for the purpose of their comparative analysis. Flower symbolism and its contribution to the obscured meaning of the painting is discussed through the context of its iconographic analysis. Simultaneously, different possibilities of interpreting flower symbolism are being examined along with some artists' solutions in regards to their chosen stylistic elements
