Abstract
Lažni prijatelji su riječi istog ili sličnog oblika koji u različitim jezicima imaju potpuno ili djelomično drukčija značenja i kao takvi predstavljaju prepreku u komunikaciji i izvor su nesporazuma među govornicima različitih jezika. Dijele se na slučajne lažne prijatelje, koji nemaju zajedničku etimologiju i na semantičke, koji je imaju. Semantički lažni prijatelji se dalje dijele na potpune, kojima se uopće ne poklapa značenje i djel omične, čije se značenje djelomično poklapa. Lažni prijatelji su česta pojava među srodnim jezicima, kao što su hrvatski i ruski, dva slavenska jezika. Ova dva jezika dijele genetsku i tipološku srodnost, no međusobni kontakt im je ograničen. Kao srodni je zici, hrvatski i ruski dijele mnogo zajedničkog vokabulara, no mnogim se riječima tokom vremena promijenilo značenje.
Abstract (english)
False friends are words with the same or similar form that have completely or partially different meanings in different languages and as such present an obstacle in communication and are a source of misunderstanding between speakers of various languages. They can be divided into chance false friends, which do not have a common etymology, and semantic false friends, which do. Semantic false friends are further divided into complete semantic false friends, whose meanings do not overlap, and partial semantic false friends, whose meanings partially overlap. False friends are common among related languages, such are Croatian and Rusiian, two Slavic languages. These two lang uages share genetic and typological relation, but their mutual contact is limited. As realted languages, Croatian and Russian share a lot of common vocabulary, but many words have had their meanings change.
