Abstract
Emocije kao početak i kraj svega, razlikuju nas i ljude oko nas na različite načine, a između ostalog utječu na naše obrazovne želje, motivacije, uspjehe i dosege. Nekada zanemarivana emocionalna inteligencija, a kao rezultat prepoznavanja emocija, upravljanja njima i korištenjem u svakodnevnom životu, utječe na naše postupke, odluke, položaj u društvu, prijateljstva, i sl. Sposobnost prepoznavanja emocija drugih i transformacija ponašanja sinkronizirana sa odgovaranjem svojim postupcima na tuđe emocije, može nam puno olakšati odnose na našem životnom putu. Jedna od važnijih odluka u kojoj sudjeluje i naša emocionalna inteligencija je odluka o obrazovanju, a istraživanja pokazuju da emocionalna inteligencija ima pozitivnu vezu sa uspjesima na svim razinama obrazovanja, a osobito pozitivnu korelaciju s visokim obrazovanjem jer EI raste s dobi i proživljenim iskustvima. Olakšava nam emocionalnu prilagodbu, kao i socijalnu i akademsku. Obitelj i drugi elementi djetetovog mikrosustava imaju važnu ulogu u razvoju emocionalne inteligencije tijekom djetinjstva i adolescencije, pa su interakcija s roditeljima, odgojiteljima i učiteljima značajni prediktori emocionalne inteligencije. S druge strane, emocionalna inteligencija je prediktor akademskog uspjeha, visokog prosjeka ocjena te uopće završavanja fakulteta. Osim toga, važnost cjeloživotnog učenja najbolje bi trebali prepoznati upravo ljudi s visokom emocionalnom inteligencijom jer ulaganje u nova znanja i vještine može jedino olakšati vrlo zahtjevni suvremeni život i učiniti ga ispunjenijim i kvalitetnijim.
Abstract (english)
Emotions as the beginning and end of everything, differentiate us and the people around us in different ways, and among other things, affect our educational desires, motivations, successes and achievements. Once neglected emotional intelligence, and as a result of recognizing emotions, managing them and using them in everyday life, affects our actions, decisions, position in society, friendships, etc. The ability to recognize the emotions of others and transform behavior synchronized with responding to other people's emotions, can make relationships a lot easier for us on our life journey. One of the more important decisions in which our emotional intelligence participates is the decision about education, and research shows that emotional intelligence has a positive relationship with success at all levels of education, and especially a positive correlation with higher education because EI grows with age and experience. It facilitates our emotional adjustment, as well as social and academic. On the other hand, emotional intelligence is a predictor of academic success, high grade point average and graduation in general. In addition, the importance of lifelong learning should be best recognized by people with high emotional intelligence, because investing in new knowledge and skills can only facilitate a very demanding modern life and make it more fulfilling and high quality.
