Abstract
Rad donosi prikaz analize dvaju romana hrvatske književnice Slavenke Drakulić. Prvi roman, Frida ili o boli, uvodi čitatelja u intimni svijet slavne meksičke slikarice, a u radu se problematizira način autoreprezentacije umjetničina tijela i njezina identiteta konstruirana bolom. Drugi roman, Dora i Minotaur, govori o, kako je istaknuto u podnaslovu romana, životu Dore Maar s Pablom Picassom. Dvoje je umjetnika živjelo strastvenu vezu koja je zasjenila Dorinu ljubav prema fotografiji i nju ostavila ogoljenom, izranjane osobnosti. Rad pruža stilističko, ikonografsko i feminističko tumačenje reprezentacije Dorina lika, karaktera, temperamentnosti i pasivnosti iz optike Picassova kista. Na kraju se izdvajaju glavna obilježja reprezentacije obiju umjetnica na temelju kojih se utvrđuje njihova sličnost i razlika.
Abstract (english)
This paper presents the analyses of two novels written by the Croatian writer Slavenka Drakulić. The first novel, Frida's Bed, introduces the reader to the intimate world of the famous Mexican painter. Pertaining to the aforementioned novel, the focus of this paper is to inspect the way in which the self-presentation of the artist’s body and her identity shaped by fear takes place. The second novel, Dora and the Minotaur, is about, as highlighted in the novel’s subtitle, the life of Dora Maar with Pablo Picasso. The passionate relationship the two artists shared eclipsed Dora’s love of photography and left her bare, with a wounded personality. This paper provides a stylistic, iconographic and feminist interpretation of the presentation of Dora’s character, personality, temperament and passivity as observed from the lens of Picasso’s brush. The paper closes by focusing on the main features of the ways the two authors (Frida and Dora) are presented, on the basis of which their similarities and differences are ascertained.
