Abstract
U diplomskom radu bavimo se analizom odabranih govora premijera i ministara Dvanaestog saziva Vlade Republike Hrvatske. Najprije u teorijskom dijelu govorimo o retorici i njezinom povijesnom razvoju, a zatim o analizi političkog diskursa koja se javlja sedamdesetih godina dvadesetog stoljeća. Dovodeći politički diskurs u vezu s funkcionalnim stilovima (jer je funkcionalna stilistika bliža slavenskoj lingvistici od teorije i analize diskursa), zaključujemo kako bi se posebno trebao izdvojiti oratorski stil. U teorijskom dijelu bavimo se još argumentacijom, definiramo ključne pojmove i donosimo Škarićevu podjelu očitosti i logičkih veza. U novom poglavlju govorimo o figurativnosti jezika i funkcionalnih stilova. Korpus za analizu čini četrdeset i pet govora ministara i premijera dvanaestog saziva Vlade. Analiza je podijeljena u četiri dijela: u prvom analiziramo početke i završetke, u drugom figure koje smo pronašli, zatim se bavimo argumentacijom, te u četvrtom dijelu analiziramo jezične pogreške. Nakon analize, zaključujemo kako u retorici hrvatskih političara ima mjesta za napredak te da retorika kao znanost ne bi smjela biti zanemarena, kao što je to trenutno slučaj.
Abstract (english)
In this thesis we analyse the selected speeches of the PM and ministers of the Twelfth Croatian Government. Firstly, in the theoretical part we discuss rhetoric and its historical development and subsequently discuss political discourse analysis, which appeared in the ‘70s of the 20th century. By relating political discourse to functional styles (since functional stylistics is closer to Slavic linguistics than discourse theory and analysis), we conclude that oratory style ought to be singled out. In the theoretical part we also deal with argumentation, define key concepts and report Škarić’s classification of obviousness and logical connections. In the following chapter we talk about the figurativeness of language and functional styles. The corpus of the analysis is made up of forty-five speeches of the PM and ministers of the Twelfth Government. The analysis is divided into four parts: in the first part, we analyse the openings and closures, in the second one the singled out figures, after which we deal with argumentation and, in the fourth part, we analyse linguistic errors. After the analysis, we conclude that there is room for improvement in the rhetoric of Croatian politicians and that rhetoric as a science should not be neglected, as is currently the case.
