Abstract
1575. godine talijanski knjiţevnik Torquato Tasso objavljuje barokni ep Oslobođeni Jeruzalem. Bogati sadrţaj epa, čija radnja obuhvaća religiozne, političke, ljubavne i fikcionalne elemente, snaţno utječe na slikarstvo te postaje inspiracija mnogim umjetnicima. Glavni razlog njegove popularnosti temelji se na glavnoj radnji djela - borbi kršćana i muslimana, koja ponovno postaje aktualna u vremenu katoličke obnove i Tridentskog koncila (1545.-1563.). Pod kistom slavnih umjetnika poput Tintoretta, Pretija, Carraccija, Tiepola, Poussina, nastaju narativni likovni prikazi bogatog interpretativnog sadrţaja. U ovom radu je izdvojeno jedanaest tema epa koje su umjetnicima posluţile kao literalni predlošci za djela nastala tijekom 16., 17., 18. i 19. stoljeća. Najviše djela nastaje upravo tijekom epohe baroka, u 16. stoljeću, te su najzastupljeniji u ovom radu. Zahvaljujući mnoštvu likovnih djela moguće je promatrati načine na koje se ista tema različito predočava te pratiti promjene stilova kroz stoljeća. Interpretacija Tassovog epa Oslobođeni Jeruzalem izvrstan je primjer suodnosa knjiţevnosti i slikarstva te njihove isprepletenosti.
Abstract (english)
In the year of 1575, the Italian literate Torquato Tasso publishes the baroque epic poem Jerusalem Delivered. Rich epic content, whose storyline includes religious, political, romantic and fictional elements, has a profound influence on painting and becomes the source of inspiration to many artists. The main reason of its popularity is based on the main plot of the work - the fight between Christians and Muslims which becomes topical again at the time of the Catholic Restoration and the Council of Trent (1545-1563). Under the brush of the famous artists like Tintoretto, Preti, Carracci, Tiepolo, Poussin, narrative visual representations of rich interpretative content are created. In this thesis, the eleven epic's themes that served artists as literary templates for works that originated during the 15th, 17th, 18th and 19th century are singled out. Most of the works that are frequently shown in this thesis are created in the Baroque era, in the 16th century. Thanks to the multitude of works of art, it is possible both to observe how the same topic is represented in different ways and to track style changes during the centuries. The interpretation of Tasso's epic poem Jerusalem Delivered is an exquisite example of the correlation of literature and painting and its entanglement.
