Abstract
Ovaj rad bavi se temom erosa i thanatosa u djelima Rikarda Jorgovanića. Motiv ljubavi i smrti ili erosa i thanatosa temeljna je nit koja povezuje analizirane pripovijetke i pjesme u kojima autor prikazuje romantičnu, idealiziranu ljubav koja završava u iznenadnoj smrti. Njegovi likovi, progonjeni uspomenama na svoje mrtve ljubavi, često dijele istu nesretnu sudbinu. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na motiv mrtve ljubavi u kojem se ogleda mračni romantičarski ideal ljepote građen na opreci ljubavi i smrti, te na lik ožalošćenog ljubavnika koji kroz umjetnost nastoji pobijediti smrt i tako ostati vječno povezan sa svojom voljenom. Analiza odabranih djela temelji se na psihoanalitičkoj teoriji i ideji Sigmunda Freuda prema kojoj se u srži života krije vječna borba nagona života, erosa, koji teži očuvanju života, i autodestruktivnog nagona smrti, thanatosa, koji organizam usmjerava prema smrti.
Abstract (english)
This paper deals with the theme of Eros and Thanatos in the works of Rikard Jorgovanić. The motif of love and death or Eros and Thanatos is the fundamental thread that connects the analysed tales and poems in which the author depicts a romantic, idealized love that ends in sudden death. His characters, haunted by memories of their dead beloveds, often share the same unfortunate fate. Special emphasis is placed on the dead beloved motif, which reflects the dark romantic ideal of beauty built on the opposition of love and death, together with the character of a grieving lover who seeks to overcome death through art and thus remain eternally connected with his beloved. The analysis of selected works is based on the psychoanalytic theory and the idea of Sigmund Freud according to which at the core of life lies the eternal struggle between the life drive, Eros, which seeks to preserve life, and the self-destructive death drive, Thanatos, which leads the organism towards death.
