Abstract
Höflichkeit gewinnt in den letzten 50 Jahren immer mehr an Bedeutung. Man unterscheidet zwischen kulturgebundener Höflichkeit (Sitten, Rituale) und linguistischer Höflichkeit. Die Sprachen werden von den ständigen Änderungen in der Gesellschaft beeinflusst – was zu den Änderungen in der Grammatik, Lexik und dem situativen Gebrauch der Sprache führt. Der Gebrauch der Höflichkeitsformen hängt von vielen Faktoren ab, vor allem von der Kultur, der eine Sprache angehört und dem Sprecher/Mutterprachler. Deutsch, Englisch und Kroatisch sind indoeuropäische Sprachen. Obwohl Deutsch und Englisch der gleichen, germanischen Sprachgruppe angehörig sind, weisen Deutsch und Kroatisch Ähnlichkeiten beim Gebrauch von Höflichkeitsformen, was man anhand Beispiele aus dem Alltag belegen kann.
Abstract (english)
FORMS OF POLITENESS IN COMPARISON: GERMAN, CROATIAN AND ENGLISH LANGUAGE In the last 50 years, politeness has gained more and more importance. We distinguish between politeness associated with a certain culture (customs, rituals) and linguistic politeness. Constant changes in society affect languages, leading to changes in grammar, lexis and situational use of a particular language. The use of forms of politeness depends on many factors, most of all on the culture which a language belongs to and on the (native) speaker himself. German, English and Croatian are languages of the same Indo-European family of languages. Although German and English belong to one language family, i.e. Germanic, German and Croatian show certain similarities in the use of forms of politeness, which can be illustrated by examples from everyday language use.
