Abstract
Posttraumatski stresni poremećaj (PTSP) stanje je mentalnog zdravlja koje se može razviti nakon što osoba doživi ili svjedoči traumatičnom događaju, što uključuje i različite oblike zlostavljanja što može dovesti do dugoročnih emocionalnih i psiholoških problema. Djeca koja su pretrpjela zlostavljanje mogu imati poteškoća s regulacijom emocija, osjećajima krivnje, srama i bespomoćnosti, te mogu imati poteškoće u uspostavljanju zdravih međuljudskih odnosa. Simptomi PTSP-a kod djece, ali i odraslih, mogu uključivati ponavljajuće noćne more, izbjegavanje situacija koje su povezane s traumom, poteškoće s koncentracijom i poteškoće s uspostavljanjem normalnog života nakon traume. Na razvoj PTSP-a nakon iskustva zlostavljanja kod djece mogu utjecati i drugi čimbenici, kao što su težina i učestalost zlostavljanja, dob kao i kvaliteta i dostupnost socijalne podrške.
Abstract (english)
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health condition that can develop after a person experiences or witnesses a traumatic event, including various forms of abuse, which can lead to long-term emotional and psychological problems. Children who have suffered abuse may have difficulty regulating emotions, feelings of guilt, shame, and helplessness, and may have difficulty establishing healthy interpersonal relationships. Symptoms of PTSD in children, as well as adults, can include recurring nightmares, avoidance of situations associated with the trauma, difficulty concentrating, and difficulty re-establishing a normal life after the trauma. Other factors, such as the severity and frequency of the abuse, age, and the quality and availability of social support, may influence the development of PTSD after the experience of child abuse.
