Abstract
La polisemia, ovvero la proprietà di un segno linguistico di avere più di un significato, è un fenomeno onnipresente non soltanto nella lingua italiana, ma anche nelle altre lingue mondiali. La tesi di laurea La polisemia nella lingua italiana ha come scopo analizzare il fenomeno semantico della polisemia da diversi angoli linguistici. Il primo argomento trattato nella tesi è quello del rapporto della polisemia con altri fenomeni semantici, come l’omonimia e le figure retoriche. In seguito viene approfondita l’occorrenza della polisemia nelle unità fraseologiche. Infine, l’ultimo approfondimento è quello sulla polisemia nella glottodidattica.
Abstract (english)
Polysemy, or the property of a linguistic sign to have more than one meaning, is a phenomenon omnipresent not only in the Italian language, but also in other world languages. The thesis La polisemia nella lingua italiana (Polysemy in the Italian language) aims to analyse the semantic phenomenon of polysemy from different linguistic angles. The first topic covered in the thesis is the relationship of polysemy with other semantic phenomena, such as homonymy and rhetorical figures. The subsequent chapter covers the topic of the occurrence of polysemy in phraseological units. Finally, the last chapter is concerned with polysemy in glottodidactics.
