Abstract
Ruralni turizam je općenito naziv za turističke aktivnosti koje se odvijaju na ruralnom području, a odreĎene su prirodnom i kulturnom baštinom koja se tamo nalazi. Na prostorima na kojim se razvija donosi razvoj poljoprivrede, poboljšanje infrastrukture, više radnih mjesta i općenito se kvaliteta ţivota razvija na bolje. Odrţivi turizam je onaj koji unaprjeĎuje kvalitetu ljudskog ţivota, a odvija se u okvirima odrţivog ekosustava.Vrgorac, kao prostorno najveća općina u Splitsko-dalmatinskoj ţupaniji, obiluje kapacitetima za razvijanje ruralnog i odrţivog turizma. Prirodna baština, kulturne znamenitosti, gostoljubivi domaćini samo su neki od aspekata na kojima bi se trebala graditi turistička ponuda. Cilj ovog kvalitativnog istraţivanja bio je ući u problematiku samog razvoja turizma u Vrgorcu, kroz razgovore sa 16 ispitanika, i analizu sadrţaja sa fotodokumentiranjem. Ispitanici su suglasni u tvrdnji da bi razvoj turizma doveo i do i razvoja grada, koji bi svojim graĎanima nudio znatno bolje uvjete za ţivot. Potencijali su prepoznati, no većina ih je za sada nedovoljno iskorištena. Turistička infrastruktura je kvalitetna i bogata, no turistička ponuda koja bi se na njoj trebala graditi je gotovo neizgraĎena.
Abstract (english)
Rural tourism in general means tourist activities which take part in the rural area, and are defined with natural and cultural heritage in that area. In an area in which it develops, it brings the development of agriculture, better infrastructure and more jobs, in general it makes the quality of life much better. Sustainable tourism is the one that improves the quality of living, and takes place within sustainable ecosystem.Vrgorac, as the biggest county in Dalmatia is full of capacities for the development of rural and sustainable tourism. Natural heritage, cultural inheritance, friendly hosts, these are just some of the aspects on which the tourist offers should be built. The main goal of this qualitative research was to enter the center of the problem which Vrgorac has when it comes to tourism development, through interviews with 16 respondents and analysis of content with photo documents. Respondents agree in saying that the development of tourism would lead to the development of the city, which then would be able to offer his citizens much better living conditions. The potentials have been identified, but most of them are insufficiently used. Tourism infrastructure is good and rich, but the tourist offer that should be built on it is almost undeveloped.
