With the continuous development of technology and the rapid flow of information, it is not surprising that the rate of use of information and communication technologies is rapidly growing as well. Technological changes affect the whole society, including educational institutions, with an emphasis on higher education. Institutions of higher education need to constantly make progress, improve, offer new solutions to problems, as well as make the transition from traditional approach in teaching to a more contemporary approach. This primarily refers to making students the most important figures of the educational process. As the network technologies develop, so does e-learning. Nowadays, e-learning is used very frequently, mostly because it is flexible and easily accessible. It also gives users the option of organizing learning and their own time. It can be concluded that the individuals need to be techologically literate and competent, if they are to be able to learn and survive in today'sworld. This paper provides an overview of world literature, as well as an overview of the results obtained in the study conducted on students from four faculties in the city of Split. This research examines the students' self-assessmentof web pedagogical content knowledge, their frequency of use of technology for academic purposes, perception of learning through socialmedia, and students' attitudes towards integrated learning with the help of information and communication technologies.
