This bachelor thesis consists of six chapters: introduction, subject-matter, methodology of work, analysis, results of analysis and conclusion. The goal ahead was to determine by using analysis the extent to which a modernized dalmatian harmony-singing group remains faithful to the true meaning of the authentic word, and in what percentage is the croatian chakavian dialect represented in the lyrics of the dalmatian harmony-singing groups. The first hypothesis was that the songs were supposed to be written in southchakavian dialect because dalmatian harmony-singing groups and its songs are associated with chakavian dialect, considering their distribution along the coastal area and on the islands. The second hypothesis was that dalmatian harmony-singing groups which originate from the islands should be more consistent to southchakavian phonology and morphology than such groups from the coastal area. Generally speaking, dalmatian harmony-singing groups from the coastal area turned out to be more consistent in phonology and morphology parameters than such groups coming from the islands. Chakavian language, written in the lyrics of chosen dalmatian harmony-singing groups, does not entirely belong to the southchakavian dialect. The percentage of realization of this dialect is low, and also, deviations from the southchakavian dialect are noticed.
