Today, digital media are present in every sphere of our life from the earliest age and in accordance to that, in education as well. The appearance of new and more powerful media devices made not just life easier for man, but learning as well. In the Republic of Croatia, the media are not represented in educational process at a satisfactory level, which is a consequence of classrooms not being equipped with computer devices and teachers not being competent enough. In recent time, besides the media which serve as a medium or a mean through which messages, notifications and news are being transmitted, the term of multimedia which combine text, sound, drawings, photos and movie records also appears. From the didactic aspect, the usage of digital media makes classes more attractive and interesting. However, for the successful implementation of educational process by using technology it is necessary to know how to successfully analyze and evaluate the media content, and to have the appropriate level of the computer literacy. Digital media in classes enable playing computer games, using the internet, learning through online platforms, writing homework on the computer, presenting videos and many other activities. By using the appropriate learning strategies for teaching with digital media and by knowing the principles and criteria for the selection of media in classes, we create stimulating educational environment which encourages students to be active participants and which can satisfy their individual needs.
